Privacy Policy

	HIPAA

From 1966 The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act started to be introduced. This has had far reaching implications on privacy for patients data. This is part of the Privacy standards adopted under HIPAA (the Privacy Rule) require that covered entities use or disclose Protected Health Information (PHI) only as permitted or required by the Privacy Rule. Pertexa has implemented Hippa to the highest standards and continues to monitor this from the system process, security and access points of view. All our programs, processes and procedures are designed with HIPAA in mind from the start. This includes full audit trails from the system to see who was in what area of the screens. Access can be tightly controlled and monitored ensuring you are always above and beyond HIPAA requirements.

National provider identifier (NPI) is the latest in HIPAA standards emerging with NPI electronic transactions required. Pertexa was one of the first to be NPI ready with the new CMS1500 forms.

	HIPAA ANSI X12 claim submission

All electronic data in the Pertexa system is generated in true native ANSI X12 format as required for electronic transactions. There are no conversions or conversion tools used. They are fully integrated into the Pertexa Clearing House with the real-time payer rules built in thus increasing first time clean claims validation.

These rules translate all the way through the system with error checks and traps set at every screen from patient registration, insurance entry, authorizations, charge entry, CPT and Modifier use.

Any potential discrepancies or possibilities are immediately highlighted in real-time allowing an immediate correction before the claims leave the system or patient leaves the practice.

The integrated solutions allows as ‘Close To Real-time’ as possible (CTRT) from TOS increasing cash flows and eliminated missing or claims going into ‘black holes’
